Fantastic Festival Fundraiser

Coral Allan

On Wednesday 8th March 2023 we celebrated our namesake St Duthac and gave a nod to International Women's Day through our first pop-up event of the year in the Masonic Lodge, Tain.

Huge thanks to Margaret Urquhart who presented a fascinating insight into three iconic buildings in Tain.

To all of our volunteers who helped with the set up, baking and manning of stalls, which were selling new and preloved books, raffles, and delicious home baking, thank you, we raised an impressive £212 which will be re-invested into this years main event from Monday 11th September to Monday 18th September 2023.

St Duthac Day was a busy day, with 24 visitors coming to hear Margaret Urquhart's talk on Tain. The baking was fabulous and I took a bag of baking back to my Hubby who was not able to attend on the day.

A huge thank you goes to all our funders: and supporters of the St Duthac Book and Arts Festival.   In 2024 we were supported by the Scottish Book Trust: Birlinn Ltd: Beinn Tharsuinn Windfarm Community Fund (accessed through Edderton Community Council and Kilmuir and Logie Easter Community Council): Balnagown Estate: Port of Cromarty Firth: Global Energy Group: Glenmorangie Distillery, The Royal Hotel, CCAST and Tain YMCA, Thank you to TDDT for their continued support and to DUFI ART, Tain, for beautiful brochures, banners and posters. Thanks also to all businesses who have placed an advert in the Festival brochure; your support is much appreciated. Finally, to all the volunteers, sponsors, contributors, venues, local businesses, schools, councillors and individuals who support us in all sorts of ways, thank you, we really could not do it without you.
